Retrospective look at my roots of 3D :)

I was surfing the youtube today and stumbled upon some video that got me thinking: “wow, these were the reasons for me to start doing 3D”. I was so overwhelmed that I had to write a post about it.


I can`t really remember what was the first video I saw that had visual effects that got me thinking about learning 3D, but I`m quiet sure on of these are

Logorama by Marc Altshuler

This is an amazing cartoon by Marc Altshuler

It will got you thinking on many levels (it did to me).

Logorama makes you see what will the world (or movies) would look like if everything is branded. I don`t want to live in the world like that.

On the other side, its very very interesting and creative way of using world wide brands logos in this way … watch it, and judge for yourself

This is a short film that was directed by the French animation collective H5, François Alaux, Hervé de Crécy + Ludovic Houplain. It was presented at the Cannes Film Festival 2009. It opened the 2010 Sundance Film Festival and won a 2010 academy award under the category of animated short.
In this film there are two pieces of licensed music, in the beginning and in the end. All the other music and sound design are original. The opening track (Dean Martin “Good Morning Life”) and closing track (The Ink Spots “I don’t want to send the world on fire”) songs are licensed pre-existing tracks.
